Nominations
Submission Guidelines
A new Cartouche Award recipient is selected every calendar year. All nominations reflect a lifetime of achievement by the nominee.
Applications are submitted in digital format — placed on a USB drive and sent via postal mail or a delivery service to:

Critical Dates
- July 15
- Nomination period opens
- August 31
- Nominations must be received by the Screening Committee
- October 1
- Screening Committee forwards completed nominations to the Advisory Committee
- November 15
- Advisory Committee informs the SAPFM Board of Directors of the recipient
- January
- Public announcement of the recipient
- Banquet
- Award presented at the annual Cartouche Award Banquet
Selection Guidelines
- —Nominees, and those who nominate them, are not required to be SAPFM members.
- —Nominees and nominators may be active SAPFM members, but may not be members of the SAPFM Board of Directors.
- —Recipients of an individual award may include two individuals, though only one Cartouche listing will be given.
- —Institutions may not be nominated, but may be selected at the discretion of the SAPFM Board of Directors.
- —Nominations may be submitted by members of the Cartouche Award Screening Committee.
The Nomination Process
- 1.Nominations are received for consideration.
- 2.Nominations are reviewed to confirm they are thorough and properly completed.
- 3.Reviewed applications are forwarded to the Cartouche Advisory Committee for selection.
- 4.The recipient and other nominees are notified of the results by the current SAPFM President.
Handling of Materials
All materials submitted will be held for consideration for the following two years, provided a new nomination letter is submitted each year. If new images are to be included, a complete new packet must be submitted. Materials will not be returned unless specifically requested.
Materials submitted by the winning applicant may be used by SAPFM for purposes strictly related to the Cartouche Award. SAPFM waives all rights to all other submitted materials.
Nominees and their representatives are asked not to contact the Cartouche Advisory Committee directly. If necessary, the Committee may request additional information from the nominator.
